Recalling the coveted recognition that the INARCH – Istituto Nazionale di Architettura – founded by Bruno Zevi gave to «Op. cit.»
only two years after its launch, appreciating both its clear direction and also its ability to involve significant exponents of international culture from the outset, thus avoiding relegating architecture to a sectoral expression, this paper recalls the reasons that
prompted Renato De Fusco to solicit two contributions so distant
in time, but both characterised by evidence of the close relationship between theory and design, both linked to the construction of
significant “cultural places”, universities and museums.y
