The essay investigates the discipline of eco-design through clarifications relating to its definition, its field of action and the actions within its competence. In particular, it is a new phenomenology of design in close relationship with the environment, human and cultural resources, the themes of sustainability and the
economy. Eco-design includes 5 project-actions: recycle, reuse,
repair, reduce, rethink. A design process intended for personas,
end-users who are aware of experiences, needs, aspirations, desires in terms of quality that also specifies the concept of “creative industry” in relation to thought and strategies by defining the
“creative ecosystem” in which tangible and intangible values
are defined, in terms of innovation, strategies and methods, visions and methodologies. At the end of the essay, a method of
application is proposed in order to design and create eco-design
artifacts starting from the assumption that the more an object is
used, the more sustainable it is.
